Keeping your inventory and stock levels up to date is crucial for providing accurate information to your reps and buyers. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps to set up and manage inventory and stock level columns in your Product Table.
1. Creating an Inventory Column
To track inventory levels, you first need to create an Inventory column in your Product Table. You can update this column manually or set it up to sync automatically using an API.
You can add as many inventory columns as you need—perhaps one for each warehouse—and each will be displayed in the product details page. For example, you could have separate columns for different warehouse locations or types of inventory (e.g., On Hand, In Transit).
2. Pinning Inventory Columns
If you want to ensure your inventory columns are always visible in AMP Shop or AMP Sell, you can pin them to the top of your Product Table. To do this:
- Go to AMP Products.
- Select AMP Shop or AMP Sell.
- Choose the inventory columns you want to pin.
This ensures the inventory information is always easily accessible for your reps and buyers.
3. Enabling Stock Levels
Once you’ve created your Inventory column(s), you can enable Stock Levels for even more functionality. To do this, create a new column to the right of the inventory column, and tag it as Stock Level.
- Note: The Stock Level column doesn’t contain user input—it pulls data from the inventory column(s) to determine stock status.
- If there’s a positive number in the inventory column(s), the Stock Level column will display "In Stock."
- If the inventory column has a value of 0, it will display "Out of Stock."
- If there’s no data in the inventory column, the Stock Level will show "Please Ask."
4. Using Stock Levels for Additional Features
Once you have a Stock Level column, you can take advantage of several useful features:
- Create Filters in Sell and Shop: Allow your reps and buyers to filter and only view SKUs that are in stock.
- Add Corner Ribbons: Highlight in-stock or coming-soon SKUs with corner ribbons in Shop and/or Sell.
- Email Filtered Spec Sheets: Send reps and buyers spec sheets that only contain in-stock products.
5. Pinning the Stock Level Column
Just like with the inventory columns, you can also pin the Stock Level column to make it more visible. This will ensure the stock status is immediately available when viewing SKU information.
6. Conclusion
With Inventory and Stock Level columns in place, your reps and buyers will have easy access to up-to-date stock information, making it quicker and simpler for them to find and order available products.
By setting up and utilizing these features, you can ensure that your inventory data is accurate and accessible across AMP, helping to improve order accuracy and customer satisfaction.
