How to Add a New Customer and Invite Buyers in AMP
This guide will walk you through the process of adding a new customer to your AMP customer table and inviting buyers to access your catalog via AMP Shop.
Pre-requisite:
To invite buyers, you must have AMP Shop access.
Step 1: Add a New Customer
Navigate to the Manage Customers tab in the AMP CMS.
- Go to the Customer Table section.
- Go to the Customer Table section.
Upload a New Customer Table or add a customer to an existing one:
- If you're uploading a new customer table, ensure it’s in CSV format.
- If you’re adding a customer to an existing table, simply click Add New.
Fill out the Customer Information:
- Authorize Email: This is the most crucial field. Make sure to enter the correct email address for the customer.
- Note: If your customer has multiple buyers, you can add multiple email addresses separated by commas. This allows you to associate multiple buyers to the same customer account.
- If you do not have a column tagged Authorized BUYER email, please add and tag a new column.
- Authorize Email: This is the most crucial field. Make sure to enter the correct email address for the customer.
Save the Customer Information: After entering the necessary details, click Save to update the customer table.
Step 2: Invite Buyers
Once the customer is added, you can invite buyers (both active and inactive) to access AMP Shop.
Navigate to Users/Locations in the AMP CMS.
Click on Overview:
- In the Authorized Buyers section, click on Send Invitations.
- In the Authorized Buyers section, click on Send Invitations.
Select the Buyers to Invite:
- Choose the buyers you want to invite. You can select Active or Inactivebuyers.
- Active Buyers: These are buyers who have logged into AMP within the last 30 days.
- Inactive Buyers: Buyers who have not logged in within the last 30 days.
- Choose the buyers you want to invite. You can select Active or Inactivebuyers.
Click Send Invitations:
Once you've selected the buyers, click Send Invitations once.
Note: If this button is clicked too many times, it can cause an error message to pop up.
Important: It is recommended to send invitations to both Active and Inactive buyers when you first set up. This ensures all buyers will receive access to AMP.
What Buyers Will Receive
Once you’ve sent the invitation, each buyer will receive an email containing:
- A username and temporary password.
- Instructions on how to log into AMP Shop and access your catalog.
Notes:
- Make sure all customer email addresses are correct to ensure buyers receive their invitation.
- You can invite multiple buyers per customer by separating their email addresses with commas.
- Active buyers are those who have logged into AMP in the last 30 days, while inactive buyers are those who have not.
By following these steps, you can efficiently add new customers, assign buyers to those customers, and invite them to shop in AMP. If you encounter any issues or have questions, feel free to reach out to support@amptab.com.
